A major city. The near, distant future. Elizabeth Dawson is a scientist. She’s just created the cure to all diseases. So why does she feel like she’s done something terribly wrong? She hears things that aren’t there. She sees things she can’t explain. Her sister talks to her in a funny manner. A fearful paranoia grows in her stomach. But she’s just revolutionised health care, so what is she scared of?

The meaning of life and the role of nature collide in this psychological thriller where dying is history and money is no object.

An immersive experience where audiences are welcomed and treated like potential investors in this revolutionary medical product.

The Remora siblings are relieved by the passing of their tyrannical father. Their lives are suddenly opened to a new freedom they’ve never had before, a life without the pressure and fear that was placed on them. But the past is never truly behind them, and a loved one is never truly dead. The remaining members of the Remora family quickly discover the legacy that their cruel father left behind - with dangerous implications.

‘Remora’ is an exploration into family politics and how we are influenced by those who matter to us most.

This production contains adult themes.

Duration: 30 minutes. No interval

To be toured along the South East Queensland One Act Play Circuit 2020.

‘Future’ means change, what is to come, destiny and fate, the unknown.

FUTURE DRAMATICS presents a new wave of theatre for the twenty first century. Drawing on physical theatre, Epic and Brechtian techniques, and experimental styles, FUTURE DRAMATICS is alternative performance that aims to challenge audience expectations on the traditional theatrical experience. We aim to expose audiences to different forms and unconventional styles of theatre that will confront, shock and astonish, to prompt reaction, interpretation and engagement in the fictional world of the story on stage.

“The theatre industry is always changing. These days, audiences demand new experiences, they look for something different, something they haven’t seen before. The same formula that writers and directors have used for years is being challenged. Theatregoers are drawn to unusual, immersive productions or installations nowadays, and that is something we want to produce more of.”
